why belle + oak?

why should i do a boudoir session?

why should i be part of this community?

why should i be a part of this community…if i’m not interested in a session?

i get it. all valid questions. lucky for you, one of my dreams is to be interviewed on TV so i’m here for the answering.

if you want to know more about where belle + oak came from and what the name means, check out our store HERE.

why should you do a boudoir session? well, for one: they’re awesome. don’t believe me? read our testimonials HERE. celebrating your body is the heartbeat of belle + oak. and around here, we celebrate it for what it IS, not what someone (even ourselves) says it should be. there are a lot of boudoir photography styles and i love and respect them all, but our style is clean, bright, classy, beautiful, and timeless. yes, some shots are sexy. but the overall tone is not overtly sexual. it is strong and beautiful and classic.

belle + oak is for the woman taking a chance on herself. she’s proud of her body…or she wants to be. she thinks the stories her body tells are beautiful…or she wants to think so. she’s reclaiming her body after it’s been treated poorly…by someone else or herself. she’s looking fear in the face and standing in front of a lens, documenting a time in her life she wants to remember, documenting lines on her face that she earned, documenting a sweet and exciting time for her partner, documenting her strength and courage even if she isn’t convinced ofeither yet.

so why should you have a boudoir session? because and our bodies have been used against us for long enough. now let’s celebrate them.

why should you be a part of this community? i gotta be honest. lives, they are a’changin’ here. i’ve been a professional photographer for 12 years and i’ve always believed in the idea that i’m doing something more than taking your picture, that i’m called to something more than a brief encounter with the souls i photograph. the belle + oak community, namely the facebook group, exists for you. sure, we share images there. i’ll talk about the business a bit. but the majority of it? women baring their souls, encouraging each other, healing, laughing, and even if just for a few minutes on a monday night livestream, not feeling alone. but what about if you’re never going to want a session? i want every single one of you to get in front of my lens. but if you never do, you’re not just still welcome, you’re still wanted here. i would be doing a disservice to the mission of belle + oak (and to myself) if this were just a boudoir photography company.

i am a boudoir photographer. but i’ve shot boudoir for years before now. belle + oak is my ‘something greater’. and i’d love for you to be a part.
